Welcome to Kenmure Newcomers and Neighbors!
Our purpose is: to provide a warm welcome to new residents, to introduce newcomers to the community and to encourage participation in organization activities. Our membership includes both couples and singles with diverse interests, who share a common goal — to make new friends and create a fulfilling life in our beautiful mountain home.

KENMURE NEWCOMERS & NEIGHBORS (KNN) ACTIVITIES

ENTERTAINING
Dining at the Grill groups dine at the Kenmure Country Club (KCC) Grill Room once a month. Each couple/single serves as the host for the group once during a four-month rotation. The host chooses the date, makes reservations and serves appetizers and beverages before dinner or dessert and beverages after dinner. This activity is open to all new KNN members, even those who are not members of KCC. (Non-KCC member’s payment is by credit card.)
Dining In groups meet once a month for dinner in the host’s home. The host provides the entrée, beverages and any part of the meal not being provided by the guests. Guests take turns providing the appetizers, salad, and dessert. Each couple/single will host the group in their home one time in each four-month rotation.
Dining Out groups meet once a month to dine out. Each couple/single takes a turn as the host for one month in each 4-month rotation. The host chooses the restaurant and the date, makes dinner reservations if necessary and either provides appetizers and beverages before dinner or dessert with beverages after dinner in their home.
Wine Tasting Provides an opportunity to get to know each other while experiencing the pleasures of wine tasting. Wine Tasters are divided into small groups and meet once a month in the home of the designated hosts. The host selects and purchases the wines and each couple or single in the group, including the host/hostess, provides a heavy appetizer. The format can be as informal or formal as the host decides. The cost of the wine can be divided equally among the group or absorbed by the hosts of that month's wine tasting as decided by each individual group. Full dinners are not a part of this activity. Wine Pairing WINE PAIRING brings together amiable people who enjoy and care about wine and its interplay with food. Participants will meet in each other’s homes once a month during the four month rotation. Each participating couple or single will host once during the rotation.

DIVERSIONS
Adventurers
meet three or four times a year and visits various places of interest in the area. The activity leader notifies group members well in advance of each outing by email or phone.
Book Club
meets once a month to discuss a pre-selected book. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the home of the designated host who provides beverage and light snacks. Each meeting will have a discussion leader. Book selections are chosen by the group in January of each year.
Ladies’ Lunch Bunch
groups meet once a month for lunch in a restaurant selected by the designated host of the month. Reservations are made by the host.
Theatre/Movie/Arts
groups explore the various forms of entertainment offered in the area; i.e. concerts, plays, movies, art shows, cultural events, etc. Each group is assigned a rotating host who selects the event, contacts the members of the group and makes the arrangements for the event including reservations if necessary or procuring tickets if necessary (does not have to be an evening event). Depending on the event, meals or dessert or appetizers may be included.

CARD GROUPS
Couples’ Bridge
(four couples per group) meets once a month in the home of the designated host couple. Each couple will host the group once in each 4-month rotation. They will play progressive party bridge. Partners (one man and one woman) play five hands and then change partners.
Ladies’ Bridge
meets at 10:00 a.m. the first Monday of each month in the home of the host. One person is assigned to host each month in the 4-month rotation.
Men’s Bridge
meets at 1:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Club. Some members gather at noon in the Grill for lunch. (Kenmure Country Club membership is required to participate in this group.)
Men’s Poker
meets on every first Thursday of the month at member’s homes from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The designated host furnishes light refreshments.

NEWCOMERS & NEIGHBORS’ DINNERS Several dinners a year at Kenmure Country Club offer members an opportunity to get together as a group for fellowship and entertaining programs. Dates are in the Handbook/Directory that you will receive when you join, as well as in the bi-monthly newsletter. Please call the Club at 697-9999 to make your dinner reservations.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS AND APPLICATION Kenmure Country Club (KCC) membership (Social, Sports or Golf) is now required after one year if you wish to remain in Kenmure Newcomers & Neighbors. If you are not currently a member of KCC, you can join Newcomers & Neighbors and meet new people for an entire year before making the decision about joining the Club. Once you join KCC, members may remain in Newcomers & Neighbors indefinitely, expanding opportunities to meet and get together with your neighbors in this delightful, friendly community.
